Jacob was jumping around on the chairs and singing to himself. I asked him what he was doing to which he replied, "Pretending I'm God." Hmmm. The next words out of his mouth was too inform me that he was choosing to believe in Santa Clause this Christmas even though he knows that he is not real. Then a little later he proceeded to ask me if he could have a brother for Christmas. I told him that maybe we could adopt. He then said, "You mean a little boy with a brown face?"

One conversation with a five year old.... I am stumped.

Now that schools out I hardly now what to do with myself yet, oddly I haven't had a moment to myself...its great. I love being apart of The Salvation Army around Christmas. Helping out at the toy drives, handing out presents to kids at community gatherings and making food hampers really makes Christmas. Jacob also had his karate Christmas concert. He made me cry I was so proud of that boy! As soon as I figure out how to upload video I'll post his star of the show performance, sanpi made him stand out in front for his part, there were at least 800 people there and Jacob did AWESOME! The black belt demonstrations were pretty encouraging and only at five Jacob is thrilled to go for a black belt.

Jacob's karate creed goes something like..."I am who I am, and what I am has beauty and strength, I believe in me." I believe that this creed has an enormous element of truth, as long as you recognize that God is the source of of who you are. And confidence in yourself as a child of God is necessary for spiritual growth and success in life. As a christian believing in yourself requires believing in God. This has been a huge lesson over the past year. Taking some pretty massive steps that only suceed if you beleive in yourself seems to be a trend for me as of late. God has been faithful, again (and again). I believe in me, only because I am a child of God.

I guess is isn't news to anyone that we got snow....so disappointing. Anyways when there's snow their are always pictures.

I love this portrayal of our home.

Okay, this is a funny story. I tossed a load of bread out on the deck to feed those nice little birds that cant find food buried beneath the snow. And what shows up instead, a flock of seagulls. These stupid birds could land on our deck just fine but could not fly up and out. Thus, they thought they were trapped. The only way they got out was through the railing bars! Imagine five fat seagulls squeezing through the railings all at the same time. I almost wet my self from laughing so hard...so I threw an other loaf out their again today...they just never learn. I'm sure this would make a great sermon illustration, but ya, I'm not in the mood.
